My love of Mallorca was cemented in this moment; Driving through the Mallorca mountains, down a winding one-track road. We parked amongst the hills on a whim, starting to walk following a barely visible arrow. Then out of nowhere the sea spread before us, an idyllic cove with two restaurants of sunset-watchers overlooking the beautiful turquoise sea. Sitting on the rocks staring at the scenery, bathing in the beautiful Mediterranean, sipping an Aperol playing cards to a soundscape like no other. This trip was an adventure into slow Mediterranean living – and the moments it offers you.

In this guide I’m sharing the best places to stay, eat, relax & recharge. Hotels that feel like home, and ones that show you what home could feel like. Food like nothing you have eaten before, art, candy in every vegetable bite… food to savour. Coffee shops for the digital nomads amongst us, and yoga studios that give you a glimpse into the spiritual and active part of the island. Places to explore that will inspire, and beaches to visit that give you the magic Mallorca offers if you slow down and let it.

Son Moli Country House

Where to Stay

Lean into the Slow Mornings with Son Moli Country House

The hotel Son Moli is in the countryside of Mallorca, 15 minutes outside of Palma in the ‘pla’ which is known as the orchard of Palma because of the many citrus trees that live there too. The entrance to the hotel sets the scene, beautifully manicured with a palm tree lined walkway inviting you in. The service is exceptional from the second you make first contact; the reception team organising your stay as you are welcomed by friendly staff with a drink in the main courtyard.

The hotel is all about relaxation, encouraging the guests to lean into slower mornings, days by the beautiful garden pool, farm-to-table dinners and the daily comforts the hotel offers. Staying here for a few nights I saw this language translate off the page into the experience of the guests I was staying amongst. All of whom looked noticeably more relaxed leaving than they did on arrival. I too class myself amongst these guests. Having access to the city of Palma in just 15 minutes with the ability to retreat to the countryside is a gift this hotel offers.

The food at Son Moli is special, thoughtful and unique on each day of the stay. Every morning the chef goes to the market and picks out the best, in season ingredients and the dinner menu reflects this excursion. With the sunset casting candy floss pink across the sky, we sat in the courtyard on our first evening to enjoy a delicious 3 course meal. A  zucchini, goats cheese & pine-nut salad followed by ratatouille, enjoyed with local Majorcan wine. Fresh, local and absolutely delicious.

Son Moli

When you’re not enjoying the restaurant at Son Moli, or using the bedside buzzer at the pool to order an iced latte or a cocktail, you can explore the grounds. The hotel has a tennis court steps away from the main courtyard you can use, along with yoga mats to set-up in the garden or bring to the weekly yoga class offered.

At Son Moli, you quickly feel at home. As a couple, with the family, little ones, or with your four-legged friends. All is welcome at Son Moli, to enjoy the perfect relaxing getaway.

Mirabó de Valldemossa

Experience the most Romantic Hideaway at Mirabó de Valldemossa

Perched in the hills overlooking the picturesque town of Valldemossa, Mirabó de Valldemossa is one of the most romantic hotels I have stepped foot in. Turning off the main road to the town and driving up a windy track until the trees clear and the air is crisper, you come to the hotel Mirabó, meaning ‘beautiful view’. The entrance sets the tone, as you feel like everything is quieter, and each noise comes into focus: the leaves blowing, birds chirping, the slow steps of the mountain goats from all directions. This continues into how the guests behave, whispering quietly as to not disturb the incredible peace this environment offers. A silent unspoken agreement, that adds to the romance of the place. The hotel is understated but with every detail perfected; a kitchen you can feel at home at, with a fridge full of drinks and snacks you can take at leisure, and note down on a scroll of paper. The dinner menu propped up for you to write down what you would like that evening for the chef.

We wove through the building, past the incredible stone wine store, up some small stairs and through a door that opened into our bedroom where traditional Mallorca design, meets sleek modernism. A sandy coloured cement floor with beautiful wood walls and panelled ceilings. Out onto a private terrace, and up a flight of stairs to a large balcony with sweeping views. A short walk up to the pool, with an infinity edge that felt all the more magical every time a mountain goat hopped up to take a sip. Then down to the outdoor eating area with seats facing the magical town of Valldemossa (one of the joys of the hotel’s location is it’s proximity to this town). The food was incredible, we started with light nibbles and a glass of local red wine, followed by a ratatouille of slow-stewed summer vegetables, a vibrant Mallorcan salad layered with local produce, and a fragrant vegetable paella.

A place for connection, relaxation and easy exploration to the part of the island I loved the most; Deià, Sóller, Valldemossa.  This hotel is one I’ll remember forever; the perfect romantic getaway.

Can Bordoy House & Gardens

Experience a cityscape, with food to die for at the luxurious Can Bordoy House & Gardens.

A 5 star boutique hotel located in Palma’s old town, Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden is a sanctuary from the bustling city. Not far from the port, and close to the main shopping, you enter the hotel down a small street where you go through an open courtyard and into the main reception. There are 24 suites in the house, each unique, with a rooftop terrace to plunge in the pool, and watch the sunset over Mallorca’s city. One unique feature for this hotel is their magical “secret garden” the largest private garden in the city centre. Here you have a heated outdoor pool, and loungers, and the famous Botanic restaurant, for me, the calling card of this hotel.

Delicious Dishes at Can Bordoy.

Botanic offers plant-forward gastronomy, the art of vegetables in their most delicious thoughtful form. Their courtyard dining sets the scene; romantic sweeping greenery and pebbles underfoot, a water fountain adding to the soundscape. The soft against the swish, with refined decor and fine-dining service. I tried Chef Andrés Benitez famous tasting menu. To start pita bread with dip from India to Mallorca; Spicy sauce of tomato of ramaellet, Apricot chutney from Porrers, Majorcan yoghurt. A pita-dip in essence sounds standard to many restaurants, which is why experiencing it like this feels all the more elevated. Two delicate appetisers of the day arrived first, a zucchini flower special and a refreshing cucumber bite. Next came the eggplant, parmigiana-style, paired with polenta, ratatouille, and a drizzle of cane honey. A standout was the tomato course: marinated in olive oil, served with its own tartare, and presented as a large tomato cloaked in a delicate tomato sorbet-like droplets. For the main, sweet corn took centre stage in a silky sauce with creamy purée, a crisp potato terrine, and fine slices of zucchini. Dessert was a bright finale of passion fruit sponge topped with beetroot granita.

Food-as-art, but not too beautiful to eat, because you must devour and enjoy every mouthful here.

 Where to Eat

There are almost too many spots to choose from in Mallorca that have glowing reviews; but these are in my opinion the ones you can’t miss.

In Palma there is Mouna, a 100% organic field to table restaurant. The food is creative, and the transformation of the simple carrot is otherworldly. The restaurant is chic, and the ambience is wonderful. Located on a vibrant square in the heart of Palma. If “organic” and “plant based” isn’t for the whole party, this restaurant won’t disappoint. A few other spots in central Palma include; El Camino or OMBU for tapas, Ca n’Ela for vegan cuisine, and worth a mention again Botanic for fine dining.

The town of Deiá is home to Nama an asian fusion restaurant with a breathtaking view. A regular sharing menu, and plant based sharing menu, this restaurant has it all. We had a selection of dishes, and all were a hit, in particular I recommend their vegan enoki mushrooms, signature pad Thai and panang curry & roti. Though, truly at Nama, you can’t go wrong.  If you want a fine dining experience in Deià, the famous El Olivo is next door at the Belmond, a romantic restaurant that has taken the internet by storm. And one, that you absolutely must book in advance.

For the perfect combination of vibrant brunch spot, great coffee and good co-working head to Cafe Batx in Palma. It became an almost-daily jaunt. Other good coffee shops include; La Molienda (two great locations in Palma, and one in Pollença). And a final coffee shop worth the visit is Barbaflorida cafè in Valldemossa, breathtaking views over a matcha.

Can Borday Pool

Where to Relax and Recharge:

In Palma visit Sadhana Works, a space for yoga, sound baths and other movement events. I experienced Day Gomez’s sound bath here and only wished I had found this spot sooner to experience some of the yoga teachers. Nearby Yoga Del Mar offers outdoor classes on their Outdoor Yoga Platform by the Ocean.

Spend days at the beautiful beaches: Formentor beach is iconic for its white sand and turquoise waters, Cala Deià for a more rustic cove with two overhanging restaurants and bars to enjoy the scenery, Es Trenc is famous with a Caribbean-feel, and Portals Nous or Illetas is perfectly family friendly.

Towns to explore:

Visit the towns that make Mallorca so special. In the mountains, Deià enchants with its bohemian spirit and the hidden cove of Cala Deià. Nearby is Valldemossa  with it’s cobbled streets, flower-filled balconies and village bunting. A short drive away or via the wooden vintage train from Palma is Sóller with it’s boutiques shops and vibrant square and Port de Sóller with a promenade of restaurants..In the north, Pollensa tempts with its artisan shops and the climb up the Calvari Steps for sweeping island views, while neighboring Alcúdia preserves its medieval walls and Roman ruins, opening out to wide sandy beaches beyond.

Jen Carr, family travel expert and founder of @thetravelmum, reveals a different side to the Maldives – one that is both affordable and undeniably beautiful – not to mention, great for families too. Here are her top tips…

When you picture the Maldives, chances are your mind conjures up images of overwater villas, infinity pools, and eye-watering price tags. But what if I told you there’s another side to this island paradise, one that’s just as beautiful, infinitely more affordable, and far more enriching for families. Welcome to the Maldives’ local islands, a quieter, more authentic slice of paradise that offers everything you’d want from a tropical holiday, without the sky-high costs.

Beyond the Resorts: Discovering the Real Maldives
For years, the Maldives was synonymous with luxury resorts set on private islands, where guests sip cocktails in curated perfection, often without ever seeing the country’s true culture. What many travellers don’t realise is that the Maldives is made up of over 1,000 islands, and since 2009, the local islands have been open to tourism. Unlike their resort counterparts, these inhabited islands are home to Maldivian communities who have slowly and sustainably been building their own tourist infrastructure. The result? A collection of idyllic destinations where your family can enjoy white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and unforgettable adventures, often at a quarter of the price.

Why Local Islands Work So Well for Families
Traveling with children can be complicated, and expensive. But exploring the Maldives’ local islands offers several family-friendly advantages that go beyond affordability:

  • Short transfers: Many islands are within a short speedboat ride of Malé International Airport, making arrival smooth and seaplane-free.
  • Genuine welcome: Maldivians adore children. On every island we visited, locals went out of their way to make us feel at home. Each island even had playgrounds, creating instant entertainment for little ones.
  • Affordable adventures: From dolphin watching to reef snorkelling and sandbank picnics, excursions cost a fraction of what you’d pay at a resort, yet offer the same (if not better) experiences.
  • Cultural enrichment: Staying on a local island allows children to glimpse everyday life in the Maldives, from fishing boats and mosques to the warm rhythm of island life. It’s a rare opportunity for cultural education in a truly stunning setting.
  • Supporting local communities: Money spent on local islands goes directly to the people who live there, guesthouse owners, local guides, family-run cafés, helping communities thrive and giving your trip more meaningful impact.

Where to Go: Tried and Tested Local Islands

There are now dozens of local islands welcoming visitors, each offering its own charm and character. Some of the best for families include:

  • Maafushi – One of the most developed local islands with family-friendly guesthouses and plenty of excursions.
  • Dhigurah – Ideal for whale shark spotting, with a laid-back vibe and long stretches of beach.
  • Ukulhas – Known for its cleanliness, coral reef, and community-focused tourism.
  • Fulidhoo – Small, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing escape with easy access from Malé.
  • Thoddoo – Famous for its watermelon farms and a beautiful bikini beach.

Our Take: Local Over Luxury
We’ve stayed at both a luxury resort and on several local islands, and while the overwater villa was undeniably impressive, it was the local island experience that stayed with us. We came home with more stories, deeper connections, and a sense that we’d truly experienced the Maldives, not just a polished version of it.

So, if you’re dreaming of a family holiday that’s equal parts beautiful, affordable, and enriching, skip the resort brochures and take a closer look at the local islands of the Maldives. You may just find that the best memories are made where the real magic happens.

With stunning hotels, tranquil spas, and delicious healthy foods in every corner, this long stretch of white sand surrounded by crystal clear (and bath-tub tempered) water really makes Tulum a paradise on earth. While Tulum’s popularity has increased a lot over the years, and this genuine and tranquil oasis has received a lot more tourists, there are still some gems left from “old Tulum”, plus an influx of incredible health conscious restaurants. This is your guide to Tulum days filled with nourishing foods, rejuvenating spa treatments, and a good dose of relaxation..

Coqui Coqui Coba

STAY

Tulum’s oldest, but also brightest star, is undoubtedly Posada Margherita. Established back in 2001 by two childhood friends from Genoa in Italy, this wonderful oasis offers eight charming rooms as well as the best Italian food in the area. Drop your bags in Room 7, one of the largest suites, which accommodates up to four people, on the second floor, and enjoy a tranquil breakfast on the veranda overlooking the ocean before you spend the day with a good book in any of their sun beds.

Posada Margherita

Two other favourites are Radhoo and Nest, located a little further down on the beach. Radhoo is located on the jungle-side of the road and offers beautiful villas with King size beds and a mouthwatering complimentary breakfast. Spend the day by the stunning pool or book a treatment at their spa right next door. Across the street and a short walk away is Nest, a quant and lovely little hideaway by the beach and swaying palm trees. Order one a juice in their cute little restaurant or relax in the shade in between ocean swims.

If you are looking for a short little getaway during your Quintant Roo-vacation, a visit to the  jungle-village Cobá, on the banks of a tranquil lagoon, should definitely be on your list. About an hour away by car from Tulum, you find both one of  the most important archeological sites associated with ancient Mayan civilization, as well as one of the most magical hotels ever – Coqui Coqui Papolchac Residence & Spa. This one-of-a-kind exclusive hotel is tucked in the vibrant jungle and located in an old ruin is home to several rooms, an incredible restaurant, a spa, pool, a gift shop, as well as an exquisite perfumeria full of Coqui Coqui’s renowned signature scents. Spend at least a couple of nights here for a total recharge and days filled with rejuvenating spa treatments, delectable foods, and peaceful reading in the shade.

EAT

For an unforgettable dinner experience on Tulum beach, make sure to book a table at WILD Tulum – a jungle-restaurant with a striking ambiance and where international flavors meet the Mexican cuisine. Executive Chef Norman Fenton is the mastermind behind the innovative creations, and we recommend trying the tasting menu or at least make sure you try the salmon ceviche, beetroot salad, sea bass, and the chocolate dessert if you want to end with something sweet and delicious. Another excellent dinner option and original Tulum-spot, is Casa Banana, a gem in the jungle with Argentinian roots that was founded back in 2007. The sea bass with sweet potato mash, the asparagus, eggplant, and crepes are all to die for, but there are many vegetarian and plant-based options on the extensive menu as well. The wooden tables by the big wood-fired grill create such a cozy, yet sexy environment. If it’s fully booked, Hartwood is also a restaurant in the area that will give you an outstanding food experience. Their menu changes daily and you find lots of delectable fresh produce and Mexican traditional dishes with a twist. Bagatelle is one of the newer spots on the beach, and the jaw-dropping venue is a perfect place for some pre- or post-dinner drinks and people-watching. Last but definitely not least, if you are looking for a peaceful and romantic dinner by the beach, Posada Margherita’s restaurant is a must. Sit on the terrace or grab one of the tables on the beach, and make sure your order includes one of their homemade and fresh pastas that are beyond delicious.

For a wholesome breakfast that includes a delicious and healthy smoothie bowl, make sure to head to Los Bowls de Guadalupe, followed by a stop at Matcha Mama for an iced coconut matcha. Another amazing breakfast or brunch option along the beach is Tierra Verde – a gorgeous little sanctuary where you find everything from superfood lattes, healthy pancakes, smoothies, salads, and much more on the menu. Their healthy raw food cakes are also incredibly tasty, so make sure you come back at least a few times so you have time to try it all. The healthy hot chocolate and fresh juices at Raw Love Tulum in Tulum town shouldn’t be missed either, and Olivia Organic Market is another fantastic spot for healthy dishes (try the Tropical smoothie, Pink Pineapple juice, as well as the Olivia’s Bowl).

RELAX & RECHARGE

If you’re looking for an extra calm day on the beach, secluded Casa Gitano is a perfect option further down on the beach and a little further away from parties and lots of people. Take a stroll along the coast-line and order some lunch (try the watermelon salad, sweet potatoes, and shrimp tacos) to your sun bed. For holistic treatments, breathwork, ice bath, yoga, and curated workshops within wellness in addition to gorgeous rooms and an excellent restaurant, Nômade is the place to check out. Another lovely place for yoga is Amansala – a charming hotel that offers yoga classes, spa treatments, and also retreats. Azulik also has a wellness focus and offers yoga classes, as well as ancestral ceremonies. Another place that soothes your senses and lowers your pulse as soon as you enter is Yäan Healing Sanctuary. With yoga and meditation classes, healing moon ceremonies, rejuvenating massages, and glowing facials, this is a must if you want to give your vacation the best possible wellness boost.

The post This Wellness Expert Moved Her Family to Bali: What She Learned (+ Her Fave Bali Spots) appeared first on Hip & Healthy.

I first met the ex-ballerina, wellness founder, Chrissy Sundt, in 2020 when we started working together. Her business, Silver Linings Wellbeing, was starting to flourish as an amazing online wellness platform and we instantly loved what she was doing. Then, in 2021, when I moved out of London to the countryside I was put on our new school year group whatsapp and as coincidence would have it – I saw her name pop up… “Silver Linings Chrissy – is that you?” “Yes!” she responded instantly – turns out that the school and area we had moved to was where Chrissy herself was living and our kids were in the same class. Our relationship developed over the years as we worked together, and school-mumed together, until one day Chrissy announced that she was moving to Bali, a place she had never been to before, but had always wanted to go, with her family for a year of a complete change of scenery. My first reaction was a pang of envy, I had always wanted to (and still harbour desires) to upsticks and move my family across the world for a new experience. And it turns out that I am not alone in this – in fact 16% of the global adult population – approximately 900 million people – expressed a desire to move to another country permanently if given the chance, according to a recent Gallup survey. This marks an increase from 12% a decade ago. But I am also aware that whilst a new life in tropical climes sounds very tempting, it has its challenges too. So halfway through Chrissy’s adventure I gave her a call to discuss all the pros and cons, and lessons learned about moving your whole family abroad. These are the things that will stay with her long after her expat experience ends.

Embrace a Different Education

Chrissy is a seasoned traveller. Her ballet has taken her all over the world – South East Asia, Bulgaria, Australia – you name it! However, Chrissy had never been to Bali. It was actually Chrissy’s husband who had been to Bali previously and fallen in love with a forward thinking school out there called The Green School. So when he needed a break after a recent, very stressful, stint as CEO of a large company, he suggested that he wanted to send their 6 year-old daughter, Sunniva, there. Since Chrissy can work from anywhere, she loved the idea and jumped at the chance to embrace a new format when it comes to education for their daughter. “The Green School is unlike any other school I know. It is amazing at onboarding, madly welcoming, and gets parents really involved. There are no buildings, just bamboo sculptures where kids learn. All the other families have a story too – there are 52 different countries in the school community. What they are really good at is integrating life skills like asking questions, being kind, mindfulness – they have mindful eating at lunch everyday and she ends her day with a gratitude circle. These are all things that my daughter will have with her for life.”

If You Get Bali Belly – Drink Jamu

“Drink lots and lots of young coconut water and Jamu”. Chrissy goes on to explain that Jamu is a strong concoction of ginger, turmeric, and lemon but that each Balinese family seems to have their own generational recipe for it. Jamu is believed to have been around as a health tonic for more than 1,300 years ago. Since then, it remains as a natural remedy against ailments and is thought to be an immune system booster. “After a few days of drinking the Jamu and the coconut water you start to come back to life!”

When it Comes To Change: Children Are Much More Resilient Than We Think

“My daughter is quite a homebody, she has only ever known one house and one school” said Chrissy. Normally quite a quiet and shy member of the classroom Chrissy was amazed at her daughter’s confidence from the moment she got to The Green School – “she sailed in” Chrissy commented. Much down to her amazing kind and English speaking teacher. Sunniva misses her family, like her granny and her cousins. “My daughter made friends instantly and within three weeks she was already fully integrated into her new life here – but I do think that it helped that she is still young. I’ve seen from some of my friends out here that it is harder with older children but not impossible, and it’s the most amazing experience for them.”

Look For Signs From The Universe to Guide You On Decision Making

Chrissy totally believes in signs and so when she was viewing lots of different properties to pick her home it was when she was sent the details for a place called Villa LaLa Land that her interest piqued because of the connection to performing and musicals. She then went to view the house and, as she was walking in, the owner of the house was walking out and low and behold it was an old client of hers who she used to teach Barre Classes to during her Barrecore days in London. That was it, she thought, she had to live there. It overlooks a paddy field, has an inside-outside kitchen and even has an inbuilt studio for her to continue her filming for Silver Linings Wellbeing.

Embrace a Slower Pace Of Life

“The heat and tropical climate is challenging at times – it makes you move slower. When the weather is so hot and humid it does not allow you to rush around moving at a million miles per hour. You have to hydrate and you have to take your time and you have to look after yourself in a different way than you do when you live in England.”

Move to a Place Where Your Interest Lie

If it’s skiing, move to the mountains, if it’s swimming, move to the beach, if you’re into wellness – there are few places better than Bali. “It’s almost overload – there is wellness everywhere. I could go to a different studio every single day if I wanted to and sometimes I do explore three or four different studios in a week. The standard is very high and people are obsessed with it. Ubud is great for yoga and Cangu is great for Pilates. I am often seeing people walk around with cupping marks on their backs”.

Moving Abroad Has Brought Us Closer as A Family

“Not only is it a circuit breaker, that makes us address what we would do differently but my husband and I find time for date night and we have had to overcome challenges together as a family that has undoubtedly brought us all closer together. It has made us think about what we would do differently in our lives moving forward.” Chrissy cites that missing her friends and family allows her to appreciate them so much more, and she also misses the winter wardrobe sometimes, but has learned that dressing more casually is freeing “even though being smart is lovely and has its place, I’ve really enjoyed having to rethink my wardrobe out here. There is a freedom to being casual. It’s so hot you just aren’t able to wear many clothes!”

Dubai: the land of seven-star hotels, endless sunshine, and – surprise – one of the most exciting wellness scenes on the planet. This city is a paradise for health-conscious travellers who want to work out, eat well, and unwind in serious style. Picture yourself flowing through sunrise yoga on the beach, refuelling with a spirulina-packed smoothie, then melting away stress in a world-class spa – all before lunch.

Whether you’re a boutique fitness junkie, a plant-based foodie, or just someone who wants to balance indulgence with a little self-care, Dubai delivers. Think ultra-luxe wellness hotels, fitness studios that feel more like nightclubs, and cafes serving raw, organic, and keto-friendly everything. Consider this your ultimate Hip & Healthy guide to Dubai – where to stay, sweat, and fuel up.

STAY & RELAX

It’s safe to say that when it comes to ultra-luxurious and unique hotel experiences, Dubai spoils you for choice – so narrowing it down to just a few is no easy feat. But what you might not know is that the city is now home to a new wave of wellness-focused destinations, making it easier than ever to stick to your health and fitness goals while indulging in serious luxury.

For the wellness warrior, Siro One Za’abeel is a total game-changer. This isn’t just a hotel – it’s a high-performance retreat where you can unleash your inner athlete at the cutting-edge Fitness Lab, recover like a pro with cryotherapy, IV drips, and cupping at the Recovery Lab, and then sink into the best night’s sleep of your life. We’re talking sleep-optimised rooms with temperature-controlled mattresses, meditation pillows, and even in-room Swedish ladders for a sneaky pre-bed stretch session.

If you somehow haven’t heard of Atlantis The Royal (aka the hotel that flew in practically every A-lister under the sun for its opening – yes, Beyoncé included), this is a must-book. It’s a full-on sensory experience, boasting some of Dubai’s most iconic restaurants (Nobu by The Beach, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal), a world-class holistic spa, and one of the most exclusive medi-clinics in the city: AEON. This cutting-edge wellness destination fuses advanced science with time-honoured therapies, offering everything from stem cell therapy and functional medicine to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cold laser treatments, and bespoke female wellness programmes. And of course, a few top-tier facials and injectables – because, well, this is Dubai.

It wouldn’t be a Dubai guide without mentioning Jumeirah – a homegrown luxury hotel brand that’s home to some of the city’s most iconic properties. Of course, there’s the legendary Burj Al Arab, but let’s just say it’s…unique. Still, there’s no denying its striking presence, and Jumeirah Al Naseem offers the ultimate beachside experience with Burj Al Arab views, chic contemporary interiors, and lush gardens. Plus, its picturesque canal-style waterways connect it to Madinat Jumeirah and Jumeirah Al Qasr, giving you access to three incredible hotels, countless top restaurants, and the legendary Talise Spa, nestled among tropical gardens and serene waterways. Dubai knows how to do spas, and the two One&Only hotels are proof. Don’t miss a traditional hammam in your own private suite at One&Only Royal Mirage, or head to The Guerlain Spa at One&Only The Palm for a luxurious facial.

For the ultimate desert escape, nothing beats Bab Al Shams. Just 45 minutes outside the city, this serene oasis feels like another world, nestled among rolling golden dunes. The spa is breathtaking, offering deeply rejuvenating treatments, holistic therapies like sound meditation, and the perfect setting for sunrise yoga. If adventure is more your speed, you can ride an Arabian horse (or camel – because, well, this is Dubai) into the desert or take a bike across the dunes before retreating to your private villa for some well-earned R&R.

SWEAT

Dubai’s workout scene is the ultimate playground for fitness fanatics, with pretty much every major player (Barry’s, Karve, F45, 1Rebel, Orangetheory…) setting up shop. Whatever your workout preference, Dubai has it. But there’s also an amazing array of homegrown workout studios to try while you’re in town. When it comes to reformer Pilates, Studio14 boasts insta-worthy aesthetics (complete with a cloud sky ceiling and custom-made beige reformers) and some of the best super sculpting classes in Dubai. Plus, there’s an in-house smoothie bar and coffee station, and it has its own super chic line of activewear. Reform Athletica also deserves a mention, with its line-up of body-shaking reformer classes, TRX sessions and sweat-inducing HIIT workouts. If yoga is more your vibe, Dryp – Dubai’s hottest yoga studio (literally) – uses infrared heat technology to enhance your practice.

Feel the burn at Barre Effect, where you’ll hear the words “pulse” and “hold” repeatedly through your dance-inspired workout, guaranteed to tone you up fast while having fun (promise). Or if sitting on a spin bike is your happy place, Crank – a Dubai institution – is where you’ll find all the cool kids riding away.

Dubai’s beaches are also brimming with workout options, from surfing to wakeboarding, stand-up paddling to kite surfing. Or you can just pop on a podcast and go for a long walk by the sea. Kite Beach is a great option, as you can people-watch, stop on the way for an organic coffee or an açai bowl, and enjoy amazing views of the city’s skyline or of the Burj Al Arab depending on which way you roam.

EAT

Foodies, you’ve officially found your heaven. Dubai is a metropolitan melting pot, with people from all around the world calling it home. From a hidden hole in the wall serving up Indian street food to multi-Michelin star gourmet experiences, you’re spoilt for choice. When it comes to healthier dining options, it’s hard to pick just a few, but if we had to, there are a few delicious spots that are must-visits. SEVA has been serving up 100% plant-based, sugar-free, GMO-free, and gluten-free food for over a decade, all in a gorgeous eco-conscious space that oozes zen. Even better? You can enjoy a bowl of healing macrobiotic soup with a side of conscious nachos before popping inside for a yoga class or sound healing session. Planet Terra is also amazing for vegans, with an organic menu – all free from nasties – in a beautiful, boho space. The lentil lasagna, chickpea omelette, and crispy oyster mushroom tacos will sway any devoted carnivore.

Opt for a table outside at Bounty Beets and enjoy organic eggs, healthy wraps, smoothies, and detox juices under the shade of the palms. Speaking of smoothies, the Flinder’s Lane at Common Grounds is pure heaven. Packed with cacao, peanut butter, dates, and protein – it’s a chocoholic’s dream. If you’ve made your way around Dubai’s legendary cycle tracks (nothing beats heading out into the desert dunes as the sun comes up), then The Cycle Bistro is one to bookmark. Its paleo menu packs serious flavour, so you’d never know the pizza, fish and chips, or fudge cake you’re eating is actually healthy.

Let’s not forget you’re on holiday, and no trip to Dubai is complete without dinner on the beach or with a view. Perched on the entrance of The Palm is Tagomago, which brings the best of Spanish Mediterranean cuisine to the shores of Dubai, complete with effortlessly chic interiors. For something a little more romantic, book an outdoor table at 101. This over-water restaurant feels like something out of the Maldives and is the perfect place for a romantic dinner date. If you didn’t snap a pic of your Burj Khalifa view from dinner, did you even go to Dubai? DIFC is brimming with options, from iconic restaurants like LPM, Sexy Fish, Duck & Waffle, and Zuma to cool sushi hotspots like Clap, which has a huge outdoor terrace with skyline views, and Alaya, which serves up Middle Eastern cuisine in the chicest of settings. Two words? Pistachio ice cream. It’s worth the trip to Dubai alone.

With high-end Pilates reformer studios, freshly made juices, and gorgeous hotels and spas on every corner, Mexico City is a destination worth planning a trip to if you’re seeking top wellness hubs around the world. After months of extensive research on the best wellness spots in this vibrant city, we’ve curated the ultimate guide to Mexico for health enthusiasts. From great workouts and ice baths to a favorite blue spirulina smoothie and much more, explore our health-focused recommendations for CDMX below.

STAY

For the loveliest and most intimate accommodation during your visit, check in at designer heaven Uma Casa. It is actually a real home, rather than a hotel, as it’s created and run by a Mexican family that gives visitors that are seeking a healthy, meaningful, and conscious stay, an unforgettable experience. Located in Lomas de Chapultepec, the nine bedrooms are all individually designed and each has its own unique energy and style. Both the interior and service are impeccable, and it’s a must to enjoy the incredible food they cook upstairs on the terrace. An insider tip is to ask for their healthy cacao treats made by one of the lovely sisters – they are heavenly!

Another superb place to drop your bags at is Casa Ofelia, located in the heart of Polanco. You get to enjoy spacious rooms in a beige and white color palette, a small gym, an outdoor terrace upstairs, and lovely service. If you want a real treat, make sure to book one of the suites upstairs where you get a large bathroom with both a shower and big tub, two private terraces, a mini-kitchen, and a stunning bed in the center of the room.

Two other great options in Roma are gorgeous Nima Local House Hotel and ONTO Tonalá, where you also get an inspiring and beautiful interior combined with a welcoming tranquility. Enjoy incredible panoramic vistas from the contemporary suites at ONTO Tonalá, or the warm and quaint feeling at Nima if you’re looking for a charming and beautiful boutique hotel.

Lovely Octavia Casa is a must if you’re looking to stay in Condesa. Their seven large apartment-style rooms and four hotel-type rooms are all stunningly designed, and the minimalistic Scandi-meets-Mexico interior is truly inspiring and perfect for a relaxing stay. Last but not least, Círculo Mexicano is definitely a recommendation in downtown. Relish amazing food in their restaurant, unwind by the pool on their rooftop terrace, or just relax in any of their striking rooms.

EAT

Mexico City is undoubtedly a destination for any foodies—especially if you’re into health-conscious restaurants and wellness cafés. Ojo de Agua is an old favourite with several locations in the city, where everything from fresh juices and boosting shots to homemade sandwiches and bowls grace the menu. A must-order is their famous açai bowl. The creamy consistency is impeccable, and the mix of granola, coconut, fresh fruits, and smooth mango makes it to the top of the list.

Another favourite health-conscious spot is Mora Mora, where you find a little grocery shop as well as a restaurant. It’s mandatory to order their El Azul smoothie with blue spirulina, and their hot cacao, matcha latte, and healthy treats are also beloved favourites.

A great spot for freshly squeezed juices is the juice bar As Happy As Larry, and your order should definitely include their “Detox C” juice.

For everything matcha, head to Matcha Mio Café in Condesa, where you find cakes and other sweet treats in addition to a variety of matcha drinks. A great spot for brunch or lunch is Niddo, located either right next to Casa Ofelia in Polanco, or in Juárez, just up north from Roma. Another wonderful lunch spot in Polanco is Basicó, where you find great smoothies, salads, and bowls on the menu. Two great options for lunch or dinner in Polanco are La Otilia, a health-conscious oasis where the menu is 100% gluten- and refined sugar-free, and the Greek gem Karpos, where you get to enjoy a wonderful Mediterranean culinary experience. A must-visit in Roma is Marmota—a small and rustic little gem by Plaza Río de Janeiro.

Casa Virginia and Blanco Colima are also lovely options for dinner. For sushi and Asian-inspired food (and mouth-watering virgin Lychee cocktails), Nobu is of course a favourite, and right next door is the newly opened LAVO Mexico City, where you find the most delicious Italian food in a stunning environment and atmosphere. Last but not least, Bella Aurora shouldn’t be missed if you are looking for a quaint and tranquil brunch place.

EXERCISE

If reformer Pilates got you hooked as well, you have plenty of amazing studios to explore in the city. The Good Studio is definitely a must to check out.

Other great Pilates and fitness studios include PontePila, PLT Studios, and BodyBarre by JB. For yoga, Leve Studio is a gorgeous and peaceful oasis. Other wonderful yoga studios include Light On Yoga, ConPausa, Mula Yoga, and Atma Yoga.

RELAX, PAMPER & SHOP

For beautiful nails, make sure to book your next appointment at either Rush in Polanco, or at Ken Hair Studio in Lomas. For a relaxing day by the pool, check out the most stunning Soho House, located in Juárez. For some rejuvenating contrast therapy with ice baths and sauna sessions, as well as holistic treatments, Koti Wellness is your place to book.

For healthy snacks and groceries, check out Healthy Boutique, Green Republic, Zoco Fresh, and Estado Natural. Last but not least, for the most incredible scented candles, incense, body oils, and perfumes, visit Coqui Coqui.

Nestled in the city’s centre, Marylebone is undoubtedly one of the most hip (and chic) neighbourhoods in London. This corner of the capital might be small, but it’s undoubtedly mighty with an array of things to do, classes to take, things to shop and delicious food to eat. If you wanted to live the ideal London life for a few days, you would find everything you might desire within its buzzing streets. From the best fitness classes and places to stay to the most interesting independent shops and fabulous restaurants, we have created the ultimate H&H Guide to Marylebone.

Stay

The Prince Akatoki

An oasis of calm in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, The Prince Akatoki is a relaxing and fuss-free luxury hotel just minutes away from Marble Arch and Hyde Park. The ethos of this Japanese-style sanctuary is to make its guests feel relaxed and pampered during their stay. The natural materials and neutral tones used throughout the hotel convey a feeling of calmness while in the room. The wonderfully comfortable kimonos provided and the plushy bed invite you to stay in, take a bath using the delightful MALIN+GOETZ products and perhaps even enjoy a private yoga session before enjoying a well-deserved restorative sleep. The hotel might not have a spa, but their gym is a lovely place to start the morning with state-of-the-art equipment and even a Peloton bike. Of course, visiting The Malt Lounge for a cup of Japanese tea or a drink before heading to Tokii for fresh sashimi and maki rolls is a must.

The Zetter Marylebone

If your style is more ‘home away from home’, this Georgian house transformed into a fabulous hotel will be just what you need to make the most of your time in Marylebone. The Lear’s Loft is the crown jewel of the hotel, a spacious, elegant and flamboyant suite that includes a private rooftop terrace with an outdoor bath – the perfect place to use all the lovely Verden products provided. Outside the comfort of your room, you’ll find that the Zetter is a buzzing pillar of Marylebone’s social life. Their iconic Parlour is the perfect place to spend some cosy time, from breakfast and afternoon tea to drinks and nibbles or a nightcap before bed.

Chiltern Firehouse

Chiltern Firehouse has become one of London’s elite favourite hangout spots, transforming the red bricks of this former London fire station dating from 1887 into one of Marylebone’s modern emblems. The rooms are charming, elegant and cosy, providing everything you need and expect from a 5-star hotel with a touch of sober glamour. The real stars of the show, though, are the incredibly popular and impossible-to-book Firehouse restaurant and The Ladder Shed bar. But reserving a room might make it easier to get a table at their coveted eatery where you could find yourself sitting opposite the next big thing in British cinema, some undetected foreign aristocrat, or even David and Victoria Beckham. Most importantly, you could finally get to try their popular mini crab doughnuts that seem to have the whole of London under their spell.

Wellness

Chi Yu

This small wellness centre combines Japanese and Western methods with holistic therapies to bring clients a sense of balance and relaxation. The treatments range from classic massages and facials to reflexology, acupuncture, aromatherapy and even craniosacral therapy. For first-timers, we suggest starting with Chi Yu’s Japanese Cosmo facial, which combines a massage with facial reflexology, acupressure and lymphatic drainage to detoxify, energise and nourish the skin, leaving you glowing after only thirty minutes. Chi Yu means ‘healing’ in Japanese, and the idea of healing the body, mind and spirit before any aesthetic concern is primordial for the team, making this wellness centre a little slice of zen in the middle of the busy city.

Townhouse

Sometimes, we need to nourish our souls, other times, we just want to feel chic and put together, and, in this case, nothing beats a new set of nails. One place you can always rely on for any nail needs is Townhouse. Located minutes from Marble Arch, this Marylebone salon is spacious and elegant, boasting enough space to host a whole nail party if you feel so inclined. Dedicate one hour to yourself before dashing off to explore Marylebone’s endless boutiques.

Anatomē

Anatomē is the ultimate wellness destination in the neighbourhood. After having enjoyed a day of treatments and pampering, it’s time to take care of your long-term health. As we all know, true wellbeing starts from the most basic habits, nutrition and sleep, and Anatomē has most of it covered. A lovely staff member will welcome you in their modern apothecary on Chiltern Street and ask you a few questions to understand your concerns and find the best products to support you through your health journey. Anatomē offers a limited number of product lines, still all are targeted to the specific problems that are most important for our wellbeing, such as sleep, hormonal balance and gut health. From this autumn, the brand is also organising workshops on various topics, like sleep health and menopause, to further help their clients reach their best, most balanced selves.

Fitness

KOBOX

Are you seeking a fun, high-intensity class to unwind after a long week? Then put your boxing gloves on and look no further than KOBOX. The tagline ‘where fight club meets fight club’ could not be more appropriate. For fifty minutes, you will be jumping, punching, ducking, and squatting, all to the rhythm of dance music, with strobe lights included. The atmosphere is electric, and you will feel like you are in the perfect place if you want a class that pumps up your endorphins while working every single muscle in your body. After the effort, you can always grab one of their delicious smoothies to regain some strength. If you are not quite sure if this is for you, the intro offer of four classes is only £49, while the monthly unlimited subscription starts from £160.

Tracksmith Running Club

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, this is THE club you need to join if you are looking to meet like-minded people, join a community or simply find a way to hold yourself accountable and step up your running game. Tracksmith, the Boston-born sports brand, organises an array of free events weekly for runners of all levels. You can join one of their running groups on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and stick around after the workout to enjoy coffee, pastries or bananas and maybe even meet some new running buddies. These well-organised, inclusive and fun community-led events will add friendly competition to your running routine.

Nobu Pilates

The most coveted pilates class in London could only be in Marylebone. And what’s a better way to start your day than working on your core in a lovely 5-star hotel? Nobu Pilates is the ultimate address for newbies and Pilates girlies alike. Nobu Pilates’ Creative Director Marsha Lindsay’s technique has London’s elite hooked. A-listers Maya Jama, Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts and Rochelle Humes swear by it, and Marsha has grown a real cult following thanks to her results-driven programs. Classes start from £37, and a package of 10 group classes is £400, so on the pricier side, but the location and quality of the classes more than justifies the price tag. If you are in the mood to push yourself, you can even book a one-to-one class with Marsha and, after the effort, you can enjoy the studio’s terrace with a green juice in hand.

Eat

Uli

If there is something about the food offering in Marylebone, it’s that it will be impossible to be bored of it. The variety of choices in such a small pocket of the city is incredible, and the quality of the food scene is nothing short of spectacular. Uli, for example, is a sleek pan-Asian restaurant serving mouth-watering food inspired by Chinese, Thai, Malaysian and Singaporean traditions with plenty of healthy options. Holding on to the taste of summer for as long as we can, we suggest ordering the Thai sea bass fillet, steamed with chilli and lemongrass, accompanied by a bang bang chicken or tofu salad and some fresh Vietnamese summer rolls for the most fragrant and delicious meal. During colder nights, curries, wonton soups and dim sums will hit the spot.

The Italian Greyhound

No London neighbourhood is complete without a local Italian eatery. On Marylebone’s Seymour Road, The Italian Greyhound is a bar and a restaurant open all day, serving simple and delicious Italian food in a relaxing yet chic environment. Sip a sober martini or one of their other lovely mocktails – the Calabrian is one of our favourites – on their terrace in the sun or in their cosy dining room and enjoy an Italian feast. We would start with a creamy burrata with grilled peaches (the fruit used changes depending on the season) and hazelnuts before the main event with the delicate sea bream accompanied by artichokes, tomatoes and olives or their rib eye steak with polenta and greens. For the ones with a sweet tooth, their pistachio tiramisu will be the perfect end to a fabulous meal.

Jikoni

Jikoni boasts a fabulous mix of flavours from the four corners of the world. Asia, the Middle East, East Africa and Britain come together at Jikoni and the results are succulent. The restaurant is just as perfect for a romantic dinner as a big happy lunch with family and friends, but we love it even more as an alternative brunch destination. Out with the avocado toast and in with a flavour-packed buckwheat dosa, flavourful aglio e olio butterbean, delicate prawn toast scotch eggs and the unforgettable chickpea panisse. If you still need to satisfy your sweet cravings, then the banana cake is the one to get.

Things to do

Moco Museum

After Amsterdam and Barcelona, the hottest independent modern and contemporary art museum just opened in London, in the heart of Marylebone. A must-visit for all art lovers, Moco has an incredible collection of modern, contemporary, and street art with pieces by iconic artists like Andy Warhol, Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst and lesser-known but equally remarkable Tom Wesselmann. Moco has three floors of incredible art to explore, just seconds from Marble Arch.

Independent boutiques

Chiltern Street is home to many lovely independent boutiques. From flower shops and small British designers to innovative wellness brands and cool concept stores – there are plenty of things to see and buy on Marylebone’s most charming street.

For the home, Niwaki is a Japanese craft heaven. The shop specialises in garden accessories, from ladders to buckets and secateurs, but also carries a selection of home goods and small accessories that include chef-level Japanese knives, waterproof bags and cool denim jackets. Since the devil is in the detail, you might want to give your kitchen more ‘pzazz’. In this case, Sabre is the shop for you. A space completely dedicated to cutlery where you can build your own set choosing from colours, materials and shapes on offer – a concept so chic it could only be found on Chiltern Street. The last stop is Grandirosa, a lovely florist that only sources seasonal flowers, to get a fresh bouquet and maybe a luxurious Trudon candle to bring the chic spirit of Marylebone to your home.

If you are looking for a little personal shopping, your first stop should be Isabell Manns for the ultimate sartorial luxury. Isabell created an independent British brand with sustainability at its core. All prints are designed by the founder and printed in Italy, but all products are made sustainably and ethically in the atelier shop in Marylebone. Most of her designs are reversible and, when producing, Isabel sticks to a zero-waste policy, meaning that every inch of fabric is reused to make accessories like headbands and scrunchies. Just a few steps away, Cox & Power jewels are something to be witnessed. Showcasing both their own designs and guest artists, Cox & Power offers a variety of styles while maintaining the idea that jewellery should be sustainably made with ethically sourced materials. From concept stores like Monocle and Mouki Mou and conscious brands like Monc Eyewear, there is so much to discover that it would be very easy to spend the whole weekend shopping!

Known to be one of the most elevated wellness hubs in the world, LA never disappoints when it comes to delicious health cafés, sweaty workouts, curated crystal shops, and rejuvenating hotels. Enjoy warm days filled with sunshine, green juices, lovely hikes and tonnes of inspiration. While the extensive selection of health-conscious places can almost be overwhelming, we have explored the city thoroughly and found some of our favourites. Save this jam-packed Los Angeles Guide for when you start planning your next adventure!

STAY & RELAX

With an excellent location right on Sunset Strip, stunning rooms, delectable food, a lovely pool area, a rooftop bar, a curated shop filled with crystals and other health products, as well as a wide range of guest activities (including weekly tarot readings!), 1 Hotel West Hollywood is our number one favourite in town. Make sure to stop by their Bamford spa for a massage, and enjoy a cosy dinner in the lobby downstairs. The beds are incredible, so count on getting amazing sleep and relaxation during your stay. The wonderful pool is another big plus – spend a day here and order the green juice and one of their salads for lunch. The West Hollywood EDITION is another outstanding hotel in the area to book as well. Walk into the majestic lobby, spend the day by the pool, and enjoy a relaxing treatment in their exclusive luxury spa after a session in their contemporary gym. For an outstanding facial in the area, make sure to treat yourself at the lavish Ambassade Biologique Recherche. This incredible store and spa offers treatments for the body, face, and hair, and it’s the first US flagship location by this iconic French brand.

If you prefer to be closer towards the beach, Santa Monica Proper Hotel is an excellent choice. Explore the stunning rooftop bar and restaurant, or why not order a fresh juice to the extremely Instagram-friendly lobby and lounge area? For beach vistas and morning walks in the sand, head to The Surfrider in Malibu. Unwind in their stunning and thoughtfully designed rooms, enjoy a breakfast in the sun on the rooftop terrace (order the banana bread and the avocado toast), and just cross the road to get to the ocean. The relaxed, yet very stylish, vibe of the hotel and Malibu will give you that fresh (and salty) air of tranquillity when in LA, and make sure to book at least a couple of nights here to really be able to soak in this beautiful beach and area. Another favourite hotel with such a cosy and elegant atmosphere is Cara Hotel in Los Feliz. The gorgeous property looks like something out of an old Hollywood movie, and the small, cosy rooms are thoughtfully designed and decorated. Enjoy your breakfast in their outdoor dining area by the pool, and maybe go for a morning hike up to Griffith Park and the Observatory which is just a few blocks up north. On your way home, check in at quaint Hotel June West LA and enjoy this contemporary and stylish hotel right around the corner from the airport (you don’t really notice the planes and this great location will allow you to skip the hectic LA traffic on your way to your flight). Unwind by the pool and make sure to order their delicious watermelon juice!

EAT

A true LA classic and old favourite is of course Urth Caffé, which is mandatory during your LA getaway. We love the large servings (one matcha latte can pretty much be shared between three people), and the extensive menu with everything from superfood lattes and homemade smoothies to healthy sandwiches and salads. Their avocado toast with heirloom tomatoes is a must, as well as the green juice and açai bowl. On your way to your Runyon Canyon hike, swing by Lifehouse Tonics + Elixirs to get a superfood drink or smoothie packed with adaptogens and functional mushrooms (a favourite order is their signature Greenhouse Chip smoothie). A few other favourites for something healthy and thirst-quenching are SunLife Organics, where you also find incredible smoothies, as well as Juice Crafters (get the Daily Synergy and Malibu’s Fave) and Kreation Organic Juicery (order their Green #5 for a real health boost, Illuminate for immunity, and try their sea moss for improved gut health, detoxification, and other health benefits) for the best juices. If you’re in Malibu, a stop at Malibu Farm on the beautiful pier is a must, and don’t miss their incredible turmeric latte and delicious quinoa porridge with coconut milk. On your way back into the city stop by the cute little town Topanga (which is scattered with spirituality- and wellness spots) and have lunch at cosy family-owned Topanga Living Café. Relish their incredible menu ranging from healthy avo toasts and falafel pitas with hummus, to fresh smoothies and house lemonade. Just be aware of that their little shop inside the café is quite dangerous for wellness junkies, so leaving empty-handed is pretty much impossible. Stop by Topanga Rocks on your way back and relish dazzling crystals, stunning rocks, and another cute little shop.

When in Santa Monica and Venice, make a stop at two plant-based favourites, Café Gratitude and The Butcher’s Daughter for a wholesome and healthy lunch. With light and airy interiors, tasty foods, and tranquil atmospheres, these two gems by the beach should definitely be on your list. A dinner favourite in the area is Gjelina serving locally-produced food (we love the heirloom tomato salad). A place to go to for breakfast, lunch, and even dinner, is Great White. This Aussie export is definitely the brightest star in Venice right now (although they have other locations too). Enjoy the relaxed, yet stylish interior and vibe, relish delectable dishes (we can’t recommend the avocado toast with halloumi and blue spirulina bowl enough), and lovely service – we can assure you that you’ll come back more than once.

Zinqué is always an excellent choice for lunch or dinner, and you find them in several locations in the city. Enjoy salads, their signature tuna toast, risotto, grilled vegetables, pastas, and more, while people-watching. If you’re in the mood for some healthy Mexican food, head to Gracias Madre where you get served traditional Mexican cuisine, made from scratch and by local, organic, plant-based ingredients. For amazing ambience, great people-watching, and mouth-watering dishes like watermelon salads, heirloom tomato burrata, and lobster risotto, book a table at Ysabel in West Hollywood for a romantic dinner out. The inspiring interior and friendly service also make this spot a must-visit.

SWEAT

While we are waiting for the next gorgeous Pop-up studio by The Pilates Class to open in the city, we have a few other favourite spots for some excellent Pilates sessions. Try Karen Lord Pilates Movement, The Studio (MDR), and Tribe Pilates for great reformer classes. For private and semi-private classes that will make your whole body sore for days, Forma by Liana Levi is our all-time favourite (but by referral only). Another studio for anyone looking for a real (and sweaty) challenge is Heated Room, where you find Pilates and yoga classes in a dark room that is nearly 100 degrees F (38 C). Platefit is also a studio that offers a unique and exciting experience where you work out using a vibration platform to increase endurance, muscle toning, stability, balance, flexibility, and much more. In addition, Pvolve (endorsed by Jennifer Aniston) is another incredible studio and workout where moving in all ranges of motion and using their unique equipment help sculpt and strengthen the entire body. It can be described as a mix of Pilates, HIIT, and strength training, although it is still nothing like it (or anything else you’ve tried) – it has to be experienced. For somatic movement and a true full-body release, book a session at The Class in Santa Monica (and get prepared to go a little crazy in their amazing shop). This extraordinary form of workout developed by Taryn Toomey is a mix of meditation, yoga, kundalini, Pilates, and HIIT, and it’s definitely a journey for both body and mind, including emotional releases and shaking muscles.

If you’re into barre, The Bar Method and Pure Barre shouldn’t be missed, and for yogis, The Mindry in Malibu is a must. This stunning studio offers workshops (energy work, sound healing, past life regression meditations, manifestation circles, etc.), group acupuncture healing sessions, chants and mantras, yoga Nidra, reiki classes, restorative sound baths, candlelight yin yoga, heated power yoga, and more. Luckily enough, they also have an excellent on-demand platform, and of course a very carefully curated shop. A visit to the contemporary mindfulness studio Open where you find breathwork, meditation, movement, and sound, should definitely be on your schedule as well. Thankfully, they also have a very inspiring online platform for anyone wanting to continue the practices and classes back home. Moreover, check out Light on Lotus where you find both sweaty and slow flows – everything from vinyasa and strong power classes, to restorative and soft yin.

SHOP

In a city like LA it wouldn’t even be surprising to find Palo Santo sticks, rose quartz, freshly squeezed juices, and stylish workout wear at the grocery store, and one store that actually has it all is Erewhon. If you’re a fan of Whole Foods, Erewhon will be your new heaven on earth. With locations all over the city, these curated shops offer everything from fresh food and drinks (you have probably already seen the famous smoothie collaborations with Miranda Kerr, Hailey Bieber, Marianna Hewitt, and others on Instagram) to snacks, vegetables, tote bags, and other home goods. Although it costs a leg and an arm to just breathe in here, it’s undoubtedly one of LA’s most popular places right now. Jostle among locals, celebrities, and tourists, and browse the shelves where healthy bars, fermented vegetables, and exotic supplements are stacked. And before you leave, make sure to try one of their famous smoothies (yes they are worth it, even considering the price).

Another incredible shop to check out is Moon Juice. Explore their famous dusts, cold-pressed juices, superfood lattes, supplements, skincare, and other goodies. Their location in Venice is right next to Anima Mundi Apothecary where you find any kind of superfood and herb you can think of, crystals, beauty products, as well as interesting events. Shop beautiful crystal candles and other home- and beauty goods at Tiny Bandit and stop by Mystic Journey Bookstore for an intuitive reading, a visit to their crystal gallery, and grab a copy of your next spirituality- or wellness book. A great souvenir from your visit, and maybe something inspiring to read on your way back home!

Despite its relatively small size, this Scandinavian city is full of nourishing health cafés, vegetarian fine dining restaurants, inspiring studios and rejuvenating spas and hotels to recharge at. Spend a weekend in Copenhagen and indulge in all its wellness spots – we have the full list of the gems to pursue for treating mind, body, and soul. Enjoy everything from Kundalini yoga, reformer classes, infrared saunas and Ayurvedic treatments, to fresh juices, health stores, and ceremonial cacao sessions.

STAY & RECHARGE

If you want to treat yourself during your visit, the iconic Hotel d’Angleterre in the heart of the city, just by Nyhavn is a beloved favourite. This 5-star hotel was established in 1755 and embodies a perfect balance between historic luxury and contemporary design. Recharge in their incredibly comfortable beds, relish incredible food at their Michelin-starred Restaurant Marchal, and make sure to pamper yourself in their spa Amazing Space where you’ll find a fitness centre and indoor swimming pool, as well as a wide range of outstanding spa services.

Another gorgeous hotel with a prime location (right by Tivoli Gardens) is Nobis Hotel Copenhagen. Modern, stylish, and located in a building from 1903, this is another lovely hideaway in the middle of the city where Scandinavian minimalism meets historic atmosphere. The rooms are carefully designed and decorated in earthy tones and you’ll find delectable dishes at their restaurant NOI. Last, but not least, Audo is an interior design lover’s dream and you’ll find an incredible shop showcasing a stunning range of furniture, an amazing restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as the loveliest hotel rooms in this hybrid space.
Indulge in their exquisite matcha and avocado tartine, then ascend to one of the serene rooms upstairs. Here, you’ll discover a haven adorned with luxurious amenities such as Frama’s signature body and hair care products in the bathroom, and the embrace of sumptuously soft, organic bed linen from Aiayu.

For total relaxation and disconnection for body and mind, booking Aire Ancient Baths is a must. This incredible spa is located in the former Carlsberg factory where the original features from the iconic and ancient building have been restored and fused with the magical atmosphere and concept of Aire. Come and experience the different baths or book a treatment (we recommend their Holistic Ritual, which combines an exfoliation with body massage and hair treatment). House of Salt is another tranquil relaxation oasis where you find salt therapy (which may help ease allergy symptoms, asthma, colds, skin problems, etc.), infrared saunas, as well as “H2 treatment”, where hydrogen-rich water helps detox the cells. Escaping the city buzz is also possible at the beautiful sanctuary called Arndal, which is a stylish fitness centre and spa. Enjoy a cup of homemade ginger tea as you enter the oasis, go for a workout in the well-equipped gym, and unwind with a soothing massage, a sweaty sauna session, or a refreshing facial afterwards. If you really want to go all in on your spa experience, make sure to book a little getaway at Kurhotel Skodsborg, which is an excellent spa hotel just north of Copenhagen City. Enjoy 16 different bathing experiences, saunas, sea dips and spa services ranging from classic massages and facials to manicures and detox treatments.

EAT

Even though we are waiting for one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Scandinavia, Gemyse at Hotel Nimb, to re-open, the city offers many other plant-based gems that are worth checking out when you want a healthy and delicious bite. Located in an old warehouse in Østerbro with a delectable vegetarian cuisine, Veve is the spot for your dinner out. Make sure to reserve a table in advance, or you will have to join the waitlist for the around 30 seats in the Michelin-starred restaurant. A recommendation is definitely to try their 6-course menu, and a big plus is that it’s possible to pair it with alcohol-free beverages as well. A similar plant-based favourite in the middle of Copenhagen’s old Latin quarter is Vækst. Centered around a greenhouse with lush plants in every corner, we love the atmosphere as much as the delicious menu (we love the salt-baked celery).

Great options for breakfast or lunch are the favourites Atelier September and Apollo Bar. A must-try at Atelier September is their yoghurt with granola, zucchini jam, and matcha and we also love the grapefruit with mint. The fresh goat cheese toast with wild blueberry compote, roasted pumpkin with tahini, as well as the sourdough bread at Apollo Bar are some highlights to order as well. For a healthy breakfast or lunch on the go, head to 42Raw and Palæo for the best açai bowls, smoothies, juices, salads, and plant-based burgers. Order the lemon or strawberry juice together with a wrap from Palæo and make sure to get the matcha bowl or the pancakes at 42Raw – you won’t be disappointed! Another great spot specialising in bowls (especially porridges) is Grød, where you find everything from sweet smoothie bowls to filling oatmeal porridges and savoury risottos. Sonny is a favourite café where you find great matcha lattes and an excellent avocado on rye bread that shouldn’t be missed.

EXERCISE

The city’s most beautiful Pilates studio is undoubtedly Studio 41, which is an exclusive private studio where you find both reformer and mat classes in addition to postnatal- and private sessions. A wide range of Pilates classes can also be found at Pilates Cph and LineLine – Pilates. If you want a mix of Pilates and yoga, try Ohmyoga, which is an exclusive yoga and reformer studio in the heart of the city. Two other favourites for all yogis are Power Yoga Copenhagen and The Yoga Flat in Christianshavn, where you can choose between meditations, slow yin flows, ashtanga, breathwork, sweaty power vinyasa and more. We also love Kalio Yoga where all classes are in English and 200-hour teacher trainings, as well as workshops, courses, and events are offered too. For Bali- and LA-vibes, head to YUM Yoga & Café and combine grounding flows with organic and healthy bites, and to escape the cold completely, book a hot vinyasa or warm yin at Dottir Hot Yoga and enjoy the infrared heated studio. If you’re in Hellerup, Yoga Factory on Strandvejen, where you also find chiropractors, nutritionists, and healers, is a must-visit. BeYogi is a lovely studio focusing a lot on women and kids, offering both pre- and postnatal classes, kids classes, baby yoga, and more. For an exciting experience including blue light and a musical journey, head to Rive Gauche for rhythm-based yoga.

For a sweaty HIIT session, you can find a Barry’s in town, and we also love Nordic Strong in Nordhavn where you find a wide range of classes daily. For Ayurvedic treatments and other healing methods like reiki, as well as kundalini, candlelight sound baths and yin classes with ceremonial cacao, check out the amazing studio NAYA CPH in Frederiksberg. Last, but definitely not least, One Thirty Labs is a mandatory stop for every wellness-lover. This modern health- and longevity studio offers a selection of carefully curated treatments, like cryo therapy, infrared saunas, LED light therapy, compression therapy, meditation pods, hydrogen inhalation therapy, and more. Moreover, you also find dance classes, breathwork, yoga, and different membership options that include both classes and treatments.

SHOP

Helsemin and Helsam are two great health stores where you find everything from organic snacks, food, and drinks, to skincare, books and cleaning supplies. If you’re looking for a great farmer’s market experience, Torvehallerne is where to go. The best tea can be found at the iconic A.C. Perch, which has been around since 1835 and is hence the oldest tea shop in the city. A must is to try their famous “White Temple” which both locals and tourists line up for. The fruity and sweet, yet very healthy, blend of both white and green tea is so delicious and works for any occasion. Make sure to stop by Soul Books and browse through all the spirituality books and crystals stacked on the shelves. In addition to beautiful furniture and other home goods, you find the famous natural body- and hair care products at Frama Studio Store. It’s pretty much impossible to leave empty-handed, and two favourites are the body oil and the Herbarium Shampoo.

For a taste of wellness innovation, venture to Café Smood in Wynwood, Dr Smood’s newest establishment, offering a sleek and contemporary setting along with healthy fare like avocado toast with salmon and refreshing green juices. Be sure to sample their lavender blueberry matcha and addictive “Sweet & Salty” treats. When it comes to smoothie perfection, SunLife Organics reigns supreme (try their mint chocolate chip). Here, you’ll savour an array of fresh seafood delicacies and indulge in authentic Greek yoghurt with honey for dessert.
